Laser hair removal FAQs
Below are the most commonly asked questions about laser hair removal. We also have a detailed laser hair removal process that will walk you through what happens when.
Why do I require a patch test?
A patch test is required prior to all laser hair removal procedure to see if you are suitable for treatment, an extensive consultation and a physical patch test will determine whether you are suitable to proceed with a course of laser hair removal.
Do I need to have a patch test if I have had laser hair removal before?
You will certainly need a patch test before your course commences, this is for health and safety reasons. We will not perform any treatments without you having a patch test.
Does it hurt?
Unlike traditional laser hair removal methods, it does not hurt. We use Soprano Platinum ICE here at Spa Satori, which means that treatments are virtually painless, quick and efficient.
Why Laser over IPL (intense pulsed light)?
Laser is the latest technology and penetrates deeper into the hair shaft in return creating more reduction and less hair growth.
How long in between sessions?
- Facial hair removal every 4-6 weeks
- Body hair removal every 6-8 weeks.
This is determined by your hair growth cycle, we aim to penetrate the follicle in the active hair growth cycle. This is also known as the ANAGEN growth cycle.
Can I still have my monthly wax?
Laser hair removal requires the hair to be intact with the bulb therefore waxing/tweezing/threading & bleaching are all prohibited and this will be outlined also during your consultation.
Laser hair removal is a process as well as a commitment, you are only to shave or trim the hair throughout your course to achieve optimum results. If you are unsure of whether you are choosing the right hair removal option for you please do speak to us.
